I want to spray on a heavy duty Bedliner of the color black in the interior floor of my car instead of a carpet.
Which spray on Bedliner that comes in a spray can will work the best with the proper prep and will look the best in the long term?
If not, then which one as a roll on?
Real world experiences only, no guesstimates please.

I've done 5 beds. The first one I tried using 2 different brands of spray on. It was a colossal failure both times. The tips plug up and the spray isnt uniform.
I have used Walmart and Advance auto's brands of roll on.The Rustoleum brand works great. The only problem is the mixer that goes on the drill is cheap and will break. I just migged a lil paddle on the rod to fix that.
Stuff looks great when done.Just make sure you do good prep work.
The oldest one was done about 5 years ago and looks great.

I did the floor of my '65 with the Duplicolor stuff that comes in quart cans at Autozone. Worked pretty darn well.

Edit: found a pic, its the only one I had left. Hood, roof, and bed rails, even held up to the sun.

I did an '89 F250 long bed, bed rails, roof and hood to replace faded and cracking paint. Looked great, held up great, and was easy to roll on. I did about 4 coats after sanding all the crappy paint off. I sold that truck though, so no pics.

I also helped a buddy do his GMC truck bed and bed rails. Turned out great and held to his dirt bike and military gear, etc...being in the back.

I think it would work great for your floor. Just roll it on in a well ventilated area as the fumes are strong. I did mine in the driveway because the fumes were too much in the garage.

I would not use the roll on. My son did the bottom half of his Jeep with it one time and it looked like crap. The second time he decided to do the whole jeep and we got the big drywall sprayer that you hook to a compressor from Harbor Freight for about $20 - it has a big material holding bin on top. It sprays the stuff all over (so make sure you tape off everything very well that you don't want covered), but gave a very nice consistent finish using the Duplicolor in from a gallon container. Plan on throwing the gun away when you are done. I tried to clean it for about 20 minutes and quit.

Is spray on with compressed air OK? I used the SEM kit with supplied cheap gun on a PU bed. It came out very well. I got the material from Auto Body Depot ordered on line. If you Google "autocolorlibrary.com" that will get you there. Prep is same as paint. Clean, treat any rust and prime first. The primer needs to handle the hotter solvents in auto type paint.

The SEM stuff is catalyzed so it sets up faster and harder than the single stage products.

sprayed inside cab and underside/firewall on my 90 replacment cab

used the rustoleum spray in bedliner with the bedliner spray gun.

good stuff and nice finish. yes you would need to tape it off stuff you dont want coverd.

I did the bed of my 88-440 truck with the hurculiner roll on = grity crap that has faded already in 2.5 yrs, grit will brush off by hand and leave a black chalk like crap on your hands. it will get redone with the rustoleum next.
