I didn't want to jack the shaft collar thread but is there a parts source or kit to rebuild an electronic distributor?
I saw the .005 for the end play RR mentioned, any other specs someone would care to offer?
My older manuals don't cover any elec ign stuff and it's been so long since I've taken one apart I can't remember whats all in there.
A search doesn't seem to give up very much.

#1 is is the bushing/shaft play acceptable checked by pushing the shaft sideways at the top. Since there's no tension from opening the points electronic dizzys tend to be OK there. If needed MP did or used to offer a kit of those 2 bushings & I've seen em on eBay & someone mentioned "Arizona Parts" as a source & you can easily drive the old ones out & freeze/install the new ones but you then need to have a reamer to size them to the shaft but luckily most dists are OK. You can drive out the roll pin then remove the plastic collar & add 1/2" ID shims & www.speedwaymotors.com (1 mile from me) has a kit of washers for $5 or so or your ACE hardware would have something and Lowes has a plastic collar that will work if yours gets damaged, just need one with a flange roughly the same OD as the dist flange & the same ID of course. with washers I want ones with no raised edge so they will sit flat/full contact which is why the shims are best. You can also add a thin washer under the clip down in the top of the shaft to limit how far the cam plate can move up which is more to keep that slot assy from coming off of the pins when you're going together. leave clearance to get the clip in/out. I am going to add some setscrews/plate to the ends of the two slots so I can adj the total from the vac adv window without having to take the center clip out but I just ain't got around to it yet.
