Whenever I run into a mopar brother at the track or whatever BB/SB - NA or power adder I am more impressed by what it does for what it is.

i had a guy walk over to my car in the pits and pop the hood...
I was walking back to my car at the time and was pretty annoyed ...that someone would have the nerve to do that with out my permission...he was with a few other guys..
I said "can i help you"? ...
they thought it was a big block..and were surprised it was not...
we couldnt have a conversation because of me being pissed about him touching my car with out my permission..
I said..."how about i go over and lift up your wifes skirt and take a look?"
that didnt go over well....and i did not make any new friends that day..

found out he has a big block dart tubbed with wheelie bars and 2x4s sticking out the hood.that runs high 11s.

yo cheap i wouldve bin pist myself

guys will come up to me, asking about the car, when I tell them it has a 360 in it, they respond with "oh" and walk away...

I apologize its not a BB or a hemi, or even a 340

I wonder if it's the same way in the bow tie world. I think the ford guys no the Windsor is where it,s at

It most def does happen to chebby guys also.I heard like 5 or 6 people look at my boys sb2 motor and tell their friends or children....Look at how big the bb is. kinda funny to watch.

Interesting thread. I've never experienced this. We've always ran BB stuff but it doesn't bother me to see a great running car with a SB. I always think its impressive. We just run BB because that's what we know and we've always been able to make them run very well. I would never downplay a person because of his/her choice of engine. That's just being a [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] plain and simple. A fast car is impressive no matter what and deserves respect for the hard work and money it took to make it that way.

I don't get much from the Mopar guys, most know that small blocks with a 4" crank run hard.

There is a local guy that went down south and picked up a nice BB Camaro drag car, 14 x 32s full cage, one seat the whole deal. He's seen my Dart on the road a bunch but never at the strip. So last fall I was up at I-57 and he was there. After the time trials I had the hood up and had put the dial on the window. He walks up and looks at my small block and shakes his head and walks back over to his car. I was puzzled for a minute about what was going on, he had dialed his race car 6.90, my Dart was dialed 6.68. I think his feelings were hurt a little bit.

I have both BB and SB powered mopars and both run very well. The Demon with the production headed, [587 castings], sm block, flat tappet cammed, stroker 360/418 has gone 9.68 at 136mph with a 1.26 60ft. at 3100#, on gas. The LeBaron with a production headed, [915 castings], Big Block, flat tappet cammed, stroker 383/449, has gone 9.02 at 149mph at 2450#, also on gas. They both have equal effort, and cost, in building them. The BB runs a little hot and the sb runs cool.
I have also had the guys walk away in disbeleif after seeing the Demon go down the track and then see the stock appearing sm block under the hood
