Can a ball and trunion 727 be converted to a slip yoke with a 1965 output shaft and a tail shaft housing?

Why not just use a '65 trans? They aren't real cheap, but they are available.

I have a 65 in the car now, just looking to build a spare with a ball and trunion I have laying around. I have a chance to get a 65 output shaft and tail shaft housing cheap.

Any cable shift 727 can be converted to slip yoke with a '65 tail housing, output shaft and its ball bearing..

No cable shift 904 had a slip yoke, the 904 slip yoke didn't arrive until '66 and the '66-on tail won't fit the cable shift case.

You can also convert it like Nascar did by using a bolt on slip-yoke like 4 wheel drives use then install the spline on the front of the drive shaft and standard u-joint in rear. Did this on mine before I found a 65 unit to replace it.
