Don't take this the wrong way, Ive just ran into the same issues with my coronet.
Have you put the dipstick in it yet?
Looks good but putting the dipstick in and out may be a little tough with such a sharp bend. How is removal of the tube? It being on the side with the starter if you ever have to loosen up the header to change the starter " and you will!" that tube may have to come out so you can finagle the starter out and back in.

If this ? was for me, ...yes I mentioned in my 1st post it's a little tuff for the stick to get past the last bend, but by choking up on the stick it gets past that, then its fine.

Had to loosen the header to remove it (also made the tube part that's in the block 1/4" shorter so it doesn't have to come out as far), but like you say, if I'm changing the starter, the header has to come loose anyway.

71 RR- J68, are you using a Power brake booster? Does/will it clear that, while checking the oil, ...coming out at that angle?

Yes, a Hemi power booster set up. Didn't think of that. I haven't got the motor in yet, will have to wait and see. I might could get it done if everything I buy didn't have to be reworked. I sure hope it clears.

The only thing I can remember bolting on without having to massage it to fit,... was the Gas cap!!

Does anybody make a pre bent oil dip stick and tube for use on a 426 hemi with TTI headers? I'm tried of trying to bend one up. Help.

Milodon or Lokar make a flexible, braided steel sheath for that combo with the Schumaker mounts. You have to make your own levels though.

Those were going to be my last resort cause they are butt ugly, except on a street rod.I looked at the Lokar web site and I didn't even see a Mopar stick.

I have been fighting getting my engine back in the last 3 days and will have both headers off 3 times but hopefully today it will be bolted in. Big cruise I wanted to go to today but raining. Several things with tti that I now know to check but smart enough not to remove motor again!
My factory tube broke off and bottom end was thrown away. I bought a Milodon and nice piece but will not go in hole of crate motor. Is bottom end of stock tube smaller than top? I can't get in to measure hole so can't compare to tube. I ground some of the knob off block above hole for straighter shot but acts like milodon tube is too big. Frustrating

Get a 1/8" pipe to 1/4" compression fitting, tap the block and then you will never have a problem again. I reamed out the fitting some because the dipstick was getting caught, but now it is smooth and I will never have to worry about breaking off the end of the dipstick again when I remove it from the block. I also used the $80 repop and broke it, made another from fuel line, broke it, so this was the next step....Tim

My engine was just rebuilt and dropped in car. From what I see the bottom of tube must be smaller than the top. I have 3/8 brake line and it won't go in hole but is real close the top of tube I have left. 2 different sizes must be crimped where mine broke.
