A promoter rented one of the La tracks and has been advertising some some good cars and classes. The one that interested me most was Pro Mods, some good payouts and several classes. I did not go to a race on the 1st so I could go to this one. The flyer said gates open at 10am so we were there at 10:05. I noticed immediately that there were only two racers ahead of me and only a couple in the pits from the TNT Friday night. After we got in and selected our pit spot it seemed like forever before anyone else showed up. It ended up there were only 12 cars that showed up to race and one of those was a Jr. Because of the situation I selected not to race but to run TNT instead. It was a total disaster. After one run I decided it was too hot to run again so we came home.
We later learned that this promoter has really gypped people out of their purses in the past and it looks like the racers decided to show him. I now know his name and won't go to another of his races.
I haven't run my car in the 1/4 in 2 years and I have it set up for 10.90. It ran a 10.919 so I guess that's pretty close. Very satisfied. My time slip said my 60ft was a .362, man was that quick, Ha Ha. It was either entirely wrong or the printer dropped the 1. If the 1 was dropped that was my quickest 60ft ever, previous best was a 1.40. We'll see this fall because I'm taking the summer off.
