One of my racing friends is considering buying a 99 Dodge 2500 V10 truck he's a Brand X racer but called me for advice on the truck. He said the truck is clean but has a slight valve type tap.It has 77,000 miles. Does anybody know much about or have one of these trucks? I don`t know much about them. What could the tap be, is the V10 a good engine , hard to work on etc.? Thanks

Been trying to sell my 2001 V10 5-speed for at least a year now with no takers. They are great engines but not great gas mileage obviously. It still gets better mileage than any of my friends 454 Chivvy's or any similar Ferd while towing. There are a couple issues with intake and head gaskets though.

My buddy had a pushrod break a pocket in a rocker and cause a tap/backfire problem.

My 96 2500 V-10 Ram is going on 160,000 & is totally all original with not one single problem yet with the engine what so ever. I have loved this truck.

I have had them on there for over 15 years they are a Lund product, I`m not sure if they still make them or not.
