specific gravity of gasoline is around... Gasoline, Vehicle 60oF 0.739 Specific gravity of water is 1.000 Gasoline will float on top of water...anything with a specific gravity of less then 1.00000 ..floats.. http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/specific-gravity-liquids-d_336.html

I'm no Chemical/liquid scientist, but I weighed a gallon of Poland Spring water today and the scale read 8.5 pounds. The Plastic container must not even tip the scales at an ounce or so. I've always heard that Gasoline weighs 6.5 pounds. Are they both different in weight because of their molecular structures?
All I know is that water weighs 8.34 pounds per gallon,

.......Water is the heavyist liquid on earth other than mercury......
???? I don't know if there are other qualifiers to this statement or not, but there are a bunch of liquids heavier than water.

Not to mention, "liquid" is one of 3 forms of matter that a substance can be. H2O can be a solid (ice) liquid (water) or gas (steam).
And since density changes with temperature you must add a temperature as another qualifier. I have no idea what liquid oxygen weighs per gallon, but I can tell you that it's VERY cold. And at some point, mercury will freeze into a solid just as at some point, iron turns into a liquid.

Some things "sublime" and skip from solid to gas without ever being a liquid like CO2. However, at a very high pressure and the correct temperature it could also become a liquid.

The occaisional water globules in my eddy carb bowl are always on the bottom, that's why I added a drain bung on my new A body gas tank, to deal with that (& switched gas stations)

There are four forms of matter, plasma being the fourth.

Where do ghosts/spirits fall into this?
According to Michio Kaku, they could be from another dimension, if they exist.
Do you think that because of their different specific gravities that they might experience time dilation at different rates, keeping the water fresher than gas, particularly if we were able to time travel?

E-10 is heavier than straight gas. And ethanol and water can bond and sink to the bottom of your tank.

Water weighs just 1 kilogram per liter. And when do people in the US learn to forget that silly word 'gas' when one is speaking of gasoline? Gas is not a liquid. Gasoline is a liquid.

This will have 20 answers as well.

That's easy... Feathers ofcourse. Because they also contain air! Unless you ment compressed feathers...

Being a boater it is common to talk about how much weight in gas you are carrying...Word is that standard pump gas weighs 8 pounds per gallon..FYI
1972 Road Runner / GTX 440 4spd Dana 3.54 Just about to turn 26K original miles..
A boat, a GMC truck, some Craftsman Tools, LOTS of Zombie Protection, and a few Goldfish..
If you love someone set them free.. If they come back it means nobody else wanted them either..!!
