Making an old heavy duty shop truck, using a 12v diesel in a 1951 ford f3 but I'm limited on radiator space. I need to use a double pass rad to get both inlets on same side. I was planning on using generic aftermarket rad so it'll be 19" tall w daul core 1" alumin tubes Id be better if I could get away w a 26" width but if I had to I could cut and fab space for 28", but that's the max I have room for. I will doing some towing and hauling w it but mainly car type weight. And oh ya I'll be running an electric fan(s).

Will 26" be enough, 28"? I'm not real experience w diesel a yet so not for sure. Opinions?

kilroy---kind of in the same spot as you ----putting a 6bt into a 71 dodge truck---the 89-90 dodge diesel radiators are not all that big--i layed it flat and poured in 5.5 quarts---my possible radiator will be a 80 dodge truck aluminum aftermarket and it holds 1 gallon---having a custom made radiator will run around $500----my hot rod buddies buy circle track radiators from speedway for less than $200 to put into 30,s cars---if you check speedways catalog it will give you all the dimensions----bob

Here is the engine bay FYI.

Also you can find rad cheap on ebay like your circle tracks friends are using. I also have one in my charger and they work great! Just wondering what anyone thought about how small I could go. The rad will also have plenty of air flow to it.

guys are running fj40 stock radiators in cummins 4bt setups no problem---- also the range rover 6bt setups run on the stock radiator---newer cars and trucks are running on thinner units because they cool better....bob
