pulled the 318 from my '87 D100, to put in my '88 D100. The '88 had the 3.9 V6. Sat the 318 down in the '88, and the motor mounts are way off. Do I need the motor mount brackets for a '88 V8?

I've always heard the v6 has a different crossmember. I have an 89 that was originally a v6 but has a 318 in it

every one told me the frame did not change in 88.

I begged to differ then. and again now.

I un-bolted a set of mounts from my 88 frame for mopar jamie to swap a V-8 in his truck.

and the frame was not like the 85 with the 2 sets of holes used for /6,SB,BB engines.

with the bolt in mount removed there was no part of the frame to bolt anything too.

Bouchillon has the foot note on the BB swap kit that it fits up to a 87 truck only for a reason.

maybe some trucks got the 'good' frames till they were used up.

anyone got a 88-93 2x SB engine in a truck? how different are the 92-93 truck with mag engines? do they use a mid block mount like a DAK?

this sure sux for Dave to find out in the middle of the swap

here's what I have. here's a pic of the V8 crossmember

her's apic of the driver's side of the '88 V6 truck. the pad area where the motor mount bolts to is towards the front on the '87 V8, and towards the rear of the '88 V6. looks like time to unless the '88 and up V8s had special brackets that someone has?
