thinking of putting a 4 inch crank in a 318 magnum, not really building it to race would just like too have the extra tourque, not a big cam or fancy heads,or anything like that,it's a 95 truck obdI,will that work?will the performance computer compensate for the bigger cubic inches or not,i have heard no that u have to upgrade too obdII,just looking for advice from someone who has already done it,thanks already

Why not use a 5.9 (360) block to start off with and then add the stroker crank to it? That will really provide you with the torque you are in search of..

i would just use a 360 and just build it if i could find one, they are scarce around here,i'm not really looking too build it for racing just for me too have fun with and maybe pi** a rustang owner or 2 off,i like scalding the tires once n a while,i'm not even sure if building a stroker would b the right way too go with my obdI computer so i may start looking for a 360 magnum engine, cause i like em

why not do up a 360 crank into the 318 for a 349 stoker? that might have a better chance with the computor.

Here is a link to a 5.9 (360) for sale on the craigslist in your general area:

http://carbondale.craigslist.org/pts/3724889081.html

Might also check the local auto salvage yards in your area for used 5.9 motors, too.

My experience has been that you can find them with a bit of patience, luck and some searching..
