Drove the guzzler to work today and this afternoon stopped at walmart to get a new battery for the lawn mower (getting tired of jumpstarting the mower every time I need it) and going back out to leave I get the dreaded dead starter click. layed down and smacked the starter a few times with the mallet

I'll be shopping for a mini starter now.

Call me un-american but I personally cannot stand the sound of the chrysler gear reduction unit. Love the denso starters/alternators, one thing chrysler did right when they stopped making those paperweights and let someone else make them better.

Im running mini starters on both my trucks. I got the from a local junk yard. The 1 on the shorty has been on it for 13 years with no problems, 4 months on the Dually.. I will never go back to the dinosaur starter..

I am truckless..

Now you know that back in the 60's-70's almost every car that cranked up in a show or movie had a Chrysler.
I pointed that out to my mom & brother when I was 7

I actually like the sound of the old mopar starters....but I use the mini starters just cause they are easier to mess with.

Original denso starter on my 2.2 Shadow is just shy of 20 years continuous service, 275,000+ miles and I havent done anything to it. Still kicks that 2.2 over like it was brand new.

This is number 5 or 6 for the van. First start of the day is always good but hot restarts leave me crossing my fingers sometimes.
