race season is about to finish down here, so it's time to start compiling a list of parts for the refreshen. so i was looking at the Clevite rod bearing range & got confused on which bearing would be the most suitable for me. currently i have the CB743HN, it's a very durable bearing but whats the deal on the HND, HXN, VND, HXND & HN19 variations? i'm just bracket racing on 106 octane race gas with Royal Purple synthetic oil in the mid 9's. should i stick with the standard HN's or are one of the others more durable for my application?

I don't know anything about your engine combo, but if your running an aftermarket crank without power adders, the HN series should work fine for you. Personally I prefer the King CR808HPN bearings since the sizing is much more consistent and they'll handle a lot of abuse also.

You might want to see which suffixs mean which on thier, Clevites website I think the HND means H= Hi perfomnace,N= narrowed and D= dowel pin hole, I think on the HXN means H=Hi Po, X=extra clearances and the N= narrowed, don't ask me on the rest because I don't have a clue what they stand for I hope I'm correct on the ones I treid to explain
