Cut one from another good box or fab one up with pipe and sheet metal. No other way really

I used a chunk of primary tubing from an old set of headers and brazed it on the gate.

Wonder if the diameter is close. If not just weld them up higher.

Never really knew this was a problem with these trucks till I got the 90' that I just bought. The exact same thing right side broken off and gone, and this truck has been used VERY little as a truck. Then when I went to the first junkyard to try to find the piece to cut out of another truck they had 5 trucks to choose from and every one of them were the same way. Next yard there was one that the piece was still there but it was coming loose only holding on by about 1/2 the weld. I got it and I'm going to fix the poor weld before install and have it put in the truck, but at that yard there were two others exactly the same broken off right side pivot. The Ford pieces you have pictured look interesting although the one for the right looks a little small but may just be the picture.

Sometimes a little squirt of white grease or a little oil does wonders. The only truck I had a problem with the tailgate on was the one where I backed into something with the gate down.
I have fixed a lot of other peoples hinge pins before though. Gene
