I am replacing the slant 6 with a 440 and I am retaining the stock 833 overdrive tranny.
I have the right bellhousing #4039670 and I have I think the right flywheel #2843214.

What I need help with is I want to use a Centerforce dual friction clutch, but I'm not sure which one to use.
Anyone have an answer or suggestion? Any help will be appreciated!!!!

I have tried calling Brewers but no answer and Passon has not called me back.

First off, I doubt that you have the correct bellhousing, since they never were made. The Overdrive 833 was never put behind a big block. They weren't even put behind a 360. It was slant 6 and 318 only. There were no regular 4 speed big blocks after 1978 because the 400 and 440 were cancelled after the 1978 model year. You could use a standard big block car bellhousing and machine the register hole to the 5.125 size to accept the larger bearing retainer that all OD 833s have. The other option is to mill the 5.125 retainer to the 4.80 size.

This bellhousing has a duel pattern with the 5.125 bearing retainer for the 77-78 Trucks. So YES they were made! They may not of had 833 OD behind them but they do have bolt pattern.

The bellhousing uses a 143 tooth flywheel, Centerforce package:

and yes, that bellhousing has both the NP435 and A833 bolt patterns.

The dual pattern was common, but the large 5.125 hole may have been machined after it left the factory. It was common and still is for enthusiasts to have bellhousings modified/machined to accomodate the 833 OD.
My point was that while the factory never offered an 833 OD behind a big block in a truck, the combo has been made possible with a few modifications.
The dual pattern bellhousing tactic also was seen in some cars. The 3 speed A 230 trans had a different mounting pattern and it made more sense to use a dual pattern bell to save on costs.

Thank you 64Dodge572! I knew you would chime in at some point.

Frankenduster, I don't know how to say it any other way and you to understand or believe what many guys have already posted in the past!? Even Brewers just said it in this post.....IT IS A FACTORY PART WITH NO MODIFICATIONS!!!!!!!

That bell was produced for the BB 77/78 trucks. The NP435 tranny uses the same 5.125 front bearing retainer. The bell is fairly rare and usually expensive when found. Why it has the 833 pattern is the real question..

I am truckless..

Hey, if it all fits and works, thats great. The iron case 833 OD will certainly hold up to the big block far better than the aluminum version.
I have limited experience with the truck 4 speed transmissions, so I was UNaware that they shared the same huge 5.125 bearing retainer. It is because of this that the swap you're planning is possible. I hope it all works out.
