ok,i realize the borgeson steer shaft is a fabulous piece.however,i dont want to spend the money for the high dollar full shaft or settle for the shaft that still requires a rag joint up top.does anyone know offhand the diameter and spline count at gearbox and column end?truck in question is a 93 d250.i just wanna buy 2 joints and build my own shaft.

There used to be a tech article at RamchargerCentral about making your own.

Edit- found it.

good article..may even go that route...but what i was saying was im willing to buy 2 joints (cost around 90 bucks),just dont want a 250 dollar shaft.just want spline size and count for the gearbox AND the shaft above the rag joint(at least it looks like splines up there?).i can just get those joints with 3/4 smooth bore on the other sides and probably cut and use the original shaft.just dont wanna tear apart the daily driver to check into it if someone here already knows..however,that other articles lookin real interesting.just dont think the splines on the column side are same as box side, and the article seemed to express that.

They were the same on my tilt column truck. The guy that install it had put the small end at the steering box so took it off and turned it around. It was the same spline at both ends.

I think that the aftermarket sights have a chrysler specific gear box joint, It is different than the normal spline.it still is 36 spline but chrysler specific and it is listed that way.what ever brand you go with has it listed that way.
