Hi all, 318 in my 2wd 84 d-150 took a dump, so I put together this. 73 360 .30 over h405cp pistons, .026 head gaskets, 9-1 compression Un-cracked magnum heads, some port work!!! crane energizer 272 (old school cam) specs are 216 at .050 in and exhaust 110lc .484 lift with 1.6 rockers RPM air-gap, summit 750 vac-sec carb 1 5/8 long tube headers, 2.5" y pipe, into a single 3"exhaust. Rebuilt 904 non lock up, with 2300 to 2500 stall 3.55 gears. Thinking it will make for a peppy engine, that doesn't kill fuel economy. So Im thinking 300 to 325 hp and maybe 400ftlb. So Think this is a fair estimate. It be even better if It would break into the 14s!

Seems like really low lift... those Magnum heads don't make peak flow till .500 or better, and you're not even getting to .500 If it's not too late, and you're still in the shopping stage, I'd consider a different cam, same duration but more lift, should help with torque by allowing more airflow.

I built a 360 many years ago that used the same Crane cam,j heads(home ported),RPM intake,headers,904 lockup trans, stock slant six converter, gearing was3.23 ish. I installed it in an 87 Dodge 150 2wd long bed for a daily driver(4000lbs? with me). Got great mileage and drove very nice with enough grunt to smoke the tires from 40MPH rolls. It ran 14.20's smoking street tires @100-102mph without tuning . It ran better with smaller carbs than the 750 holley. It was done @5200rpm so it's not hp build but for a truck its not bad. I think you'll be ok with that combo. Put the same engine in my Duster ran low 12's @110mph shifting @ 5200rpm.

That's what I like to hear! Id be happy with 14s in a truck! I do have comp xe268 available to me. The heads and springs are good to .580 lift. the biggest problem is the stock stamped rocker arms, not sure how much they can handle.
Use it you will love it.....ran a xe268 in our stock la 360 with stock springs and rockers.....it was a screamer
