Is the factory tach for a 79 dodge truck a 5k or 6k? Also would it be the same if it was from 4x4 versus 2wd. Would it be the same from different years? If anyone has one from the factory in a 79 could you show a pic? A pic of the volt and vac guage would be great also! Thanks for any help! Dan

hello. i dont have a pic handy but all the ones i have seen have been 5k. pretty sure they all look the same. the tachs are marked for v8 and six. hope this helps

thanks Frank, that is what I always thought but not sure of. There is a guy that has an NOS 79 - 80 truck tach on ebay that is a 6k tach.

Here's one in a 79 that I think is/was a Warlock if that should matter.

There is only a listing for V8 or /6 in the parts catalog Nothing in any of the supplements on a 6K tach

That guy has had that Tach for a while the part # for the two tachs offered 4085126 (/6) 4085127 (V8) 4085128 is not in any of my truck catalogs not even looking it up backwards
