My engine is finally coming together and I want to install a new electric choke thermostat. I'm a little new to this engine component and need to get inputs to what works well, where to locate, and what issues others have run into when installing/using this part. I want to be sure I have good choke control on the engine to ensure proper running and performance. Thanks!

I've done more reading on this issue and it seems there are no manufactured electric chokes for 6 pack setups, that some members have built electric chokes from piece parts or have adjusted the standard mechanical choke spring to get better operating limits. Hopefully others will chime in on what works or is available or just stay with a mechanical choke and adjust the spring tension to work the choke better.

You are correct there is no manufactured electric choke for it , the member adapted a a heater element to make the stock choke thermostat work.

Is your heat crossover blocked ? Are you after a 100% OEM appearance?

The alternative is to change the choke to a manual pull cable or do as the meber outlined.

I don't know if anyone has tried to install a holley electric choke to the side of the center carb , do not know if there is room. the crneter carb is half a 4bbl so I would think it could be done.

Follow up on that thread; 4-years later, cold intake and a fully functional 6-pack automatic choke. Still starts up perfectly every time regardless of ambient temperature.

Great information. If I do go with the standard mechanical choke assembly mounted to the intake what is the best part to go with? Are all mechanical choke assemblies the same? Do they adjust (spring tension) differently?

The 6pk uses a specific thermo choke assembly , it has adjustment under the plate in the well.

Some of the original divorced choke spring assemblies had adjustable spring tension, pivot shaft rotated on its mounting, locked down with a nut and having an indexed scale for reference, primarily for fine tuning cold running mixture adjustments. The reissue/repo, Holley logo stamped into it, choke spring assembly that came with the MP 6-pack hardware kit I purchased was not meant to be adjustable, pivot shaft staked in a fixed position to its mounting bracket. Shaft can be forced to adjust if necessary then staked again.

Where is the best place to buy this part? Do you have a part number? Just want to get the best and correct part to do this right the first time.

Mopar Performance P4529185, looks like you can get at several places, Jegs has the best pictures of it.

I did the mod designed by 72, very ingenious. Will be installing it shortly. I used an Airtex 2C1112 choke for the heating element parts, grafted onto the MP repro choke. I'm still playing around with the trigger circuit.
