Try with air in the shocks. If that works maybe add a couple leafs to the packs. Traction bars, ladder bars caltracs

Clamp the front segments so they cant seperate. My shorty will fry the tires into 2nd gear with 0 wheel hop. When the power is dumped my rearend really squats and the front lifts fast so maybe thats why mine wont wheelhop.

I am truckless..

I've used Caltracs before if you don't clamp the springs tight they will make the rear jump up & unload the tires
The Comp engineering set with the rubber joint didn't seem to hit so hard & created less shock

Stumpy I don't know if you want to level it or not But you might want to try cutting the rear segment on the bottom two leaves this with clamping them helps kill wheelhop
I did that on a ShortBed 440 truck that I had that ran 7.40'S 1/8 mile with totally stock suspension budget modified & using drag shocks & /6 springs 29X10.5 Required
I put 200# ballast bar on the very end of the frame with the battery & fuel cell back there too.

thats why I like a shackle flip with axle floped ontop of the springs

no wheel hop just spins or hooks.

the axle under set up has always made the rear of a truck jump around, the shackle in stock position flops back and forth as it wheel hops/bounce/rebound

with it flip and the weight loading the shackle and spring it does a much better job controling the wrap up in the springs.

the way the leverage is applied to the spring makes all the difference. IMHO

you can make a traction bar that goes under the u-bolts on top of the spring.

make a plate with an anchor/pivot point and bolt it under the u-bolts on top of leaf spring.

make a rod with a heim joint on one end and a threded stud on the other end.

drill a hole in the front spring mount and use rubbers and washer from a front shock on the stud end and hanger.

done this for a few 4x4s when running the axle under spring, makes a nice traction bar and is up out of the way.

this will elimnate wheel hop on the cheap.

Photos? I'll have my junk back on the road some year and I'll likely need something like this.

Stumpy, first off the truck looks great so far.
The clamping of the front segments works good and I even went as far as making traction bars that welded to the bottom of the spring plates. Eliminated the wheel hop but those are band-aid fixes for worn springs and bushings.
I eventually upgraded to new 3/4 ton springs and didn't need any of it. Stock LRE springs are by the numbers 3/4 ton springs with 1/2 ton hardware.
Lastly, throw away those air shocks. What shocks did you run on the old truck?

My dakota would wheel hop badly. especially if it was wet out and traction was even more limited.

I clamped the front section with home made bar stock. and 4 nuts/bolts.

ended all my wheel hop issues.

I can't say that it improved my traction any, because I just use hard street tires, but at least the springs quit hopping around.

I clamped the front spring sections and put on a set of $20 traction bars I got at Carlisle. I also took out the air shocks and put in a pair of B body Rancho shocks I had laying around. It worked well.

Dag, you didn't waste any time on that swap! Time to swap the springs from the old truck?

Three weeks start to finish in my driveway. The springs from the old truck wouldn't work because they are rearched 4".

Perfect time to mount the axle on top of those springs..

Hmmm. Well you don't have to do everything at once.

for my 95 sport Dak w/ 5.2 5 speed, I extended the "snubers" on the frame rails down to aboout 3/4" away from the axle tubes. They looked sort of like this... works really well.
