how's that they are lighter than the 33 12.5 mud terrains i had on it. an hell with 242000 miles on the old girl i have become a hub bearing master lol..

It has more to do with where the mass of the wheel is and the amount of sidewall give then anything eles.I think it was HP tv on Spike that did a Civic build and tested larger rims. They lost HP and TQ just switching from a 15 to 17, even though the 17 combo was lighter. The rotating mss was farther from center there for taking more power to get going and brake. A taller side wall reduces the force applied to the bearings for the same hight tire just by having more rubber to flex and absord stress.

Also backspacing and rim width affect it. They put more load on the bearing. same reason bigger tires are bad for bearing. I just replaced the wifes on her 01. Antiseezing the hub before install is so WONDERFUL. They come out easier. Also if your torque wrench max ft lbs is 150 it means 150 and no more. Axle nut is 180ft lbs so I figured I could get the extra 30 by going more. Well I face planted the tire when the internal of the torque wrench gave. Lucky I didn't bloody my nose
