Has anyone had a chance to test (dyno or track) one of the new Holley 080804 Ultra HP 850s? This is the latest 1.56" venturi x 1.75" butterfly + downleg booster version.

I know that 'AndyF' has tested a new "True 950" version of the Ultra HP and said it worked very well, too. Still haven't seen anything of note re: the new 850, though.

I'm curious about any results, how close the out-of-the-box tune was for your application, air-fuel curve, etc.

Thanks.

I don't think the Ultra series has been out long enough for a lot of guys to do extensive testing on them. Most that have done testing have obviously been more intrigued with the 950, since its a totally new combination.

Why would you limit your moter w/that baby carb?

The car ran 10.5s w/ a 1.42" venturi x 1.75" butterfly BG carb, so stepping up to a 1.56" venturi is actually quite a bit bigger...

However, from what few "real world" (NOT a magazine) tests I've seen anything posted about re: this new 850, Holley seems to have missed the mark on its calibration.

I think I'll just keep testing & parts-swapping w/ my "junk" BG carbs that seem to run pretty well after getting dialed in.
