hi when i went to bolt up the repo hemi pulley on the new crate motor the pattern would not line up i grabed a 440 one same thing does anyone know if the bolt pattern on the new crates balancers are different or is this one messed

The repo pulley might be for an original balancer which had an asymetric bolt pattern as would be your 440 pulley , the factory changed to a symmetric bolt pattern which is more that likely what the balancer on your crate motor , I have that balancer at home I'd have to check it out tonight.

Yep, crate motor dampers have the symmetrical bolt pattern. Either open up the one mismatched hole in the 440 pulley and use that, or open up the same hole in the repro hemi pulley and use that with a spacer. It's an early bolt pattern vs late bolt pattern issue + the fact the crate motor has a 440 damper as John said.
