I am getting ready to pull my valve body for a general inspection due to some issues that I have been having this Fall. Besides any floating debris, is there anything that I should be looking for ahead of time while I am in there?
I plan on taking out all of the springs and pistons and checking the piston bores. I want to check the springs just to make sure that they are all in one piece. Are there any gaskets on the VB that I need to inspect?
Note: This is a 727 which has a newer VB with the part throttle kickdown option, a TF-2 kit that I installed, and different 1-2 & 2-3 shift springs that I installed.

Thanks

no gaskets IIRC,but you might want to get the 1 1/4" manual shift selector seal along with the TPV shaft seal.

those will be ez to change with the VB down and on the bench.

couple washers and a bolt/nut pulls the seal into the case, and TPV seal is done on the VB at the work bench.

make/get a mumbly peg for your detent ball for when it goes back together. holds ball in place while you put rooster comb back on.

good luck

no gaskets. just keep things in order and look for damaged bores and scuffed valves.

TPB???

TPV = throttle pressure valve

in your breakdown pic,the TPV shaft/rooster comb/seal/washer/e-clip

it is under the flat washer and e-clip on the TPV shaft in the rooster comb housing where the shift/tpv levers are on the outside of case.

TPV = throttle pressure valve: Thanks

I replaced the selector seal the last time I had the tranny out and it still appears to have no leaks. But if I end up pulling the tranny this time, I will check that out closer to make sure it looks good.

Thanks again.
