GO BUCKS !!!!!!!
I am looking for one for a 69.5 lift off car or one for a 1970 HEMI car.

Who is repoping these?
Are they junk?

Its not going on a orginal car, want to put a K&N filter in it to.

I have one that I'd like to sell, bought it years ago for something I wanted to do but never used it; looks like a nice piece.

Think fire hazard. Get a steel lid at least, they are about the same $$$$.

I agree with the use a steel one comments.

Check with Ben Snobar at http://www.shakerhood.com/

69-71 Hemi Base Plate. Avaiable for both small top, large top and Holley carbs.

I don't see the 69 lift off hood one listed but I thought I had heard he made it too.

They will definitely cost more than fiberglass ones.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

Fire hazard? Maybe if you poured fuel on it and lit it off, or used a blowtorch on one. There are hundreds of them running around on circle-track cars, and the NASCAR-style lid I made for my car 5 years ago holds up to high temps and still looks new.

Ben Snobars pieces are nice and made of metal, but at nearly $1500.00 they are not in most peoples network...

Even as hot as it gets under the hood of my 69 Charger (no air scoop or cool air induction). I haven't had any issues with warpage of the air cleaner and I got it from Steve (PaintItBlack). I went as far as to modify the baseplate because it wasn't designed for for a CH-28 and dual Edelbrocks. I too have the K&N filter on mine. It doesn't fit smack dab on but thats the K&N imperfection I believe.

Before and after
