Same as above. Everytime I use Omni now Shopline I get dieback. Dont get it from the high dollar ppg clears but I dont use them I get better results from transtar. Even after sanding and buffing Omni/shopline it just doesnt have the depth I look for. If those pictures look like Its deep and a lot of clear its not. Its three coats.

Its like said above the higher dollar paints have more solids I want to say the euro has 52 percent. Also keep in mind this when pricing it. With shopline you get 5 sprayable qts that is thin. with the better ppg clears its 6 sprayable qts plus about 10 percent more than that because most will reduce it that much to spray it.

i see you guys like the transtar but i cant get it locally and im thinking id rather stick with PPG on PPG and use the 2021 im leaning towards for the higher solids.. and for some reason id be using less and getting more if that makes sense! maybe im crazy i dunno heh

I am not a pro, but I used 2021 on my engine compartment, and I am quite impress for the first time I have sprayed base/clear...

I think it is good product, it flows well it is designed to set with just an air dry; the other thing I like about it is it turns K36 into a sealer - so you do not have to buy as many products...

it flows so well when I painted my engine compartment I got stuck in a corner and stopped moving the gun but left the trigger down for a second too long - it cam out and it was going to be run city, but it just flowed out w/ no runs - you could just see it flatten out...

One not is have good ventilation when spraying, even with my Devilivus CFG-670 plus gun it left a large haze in the garrage, I had to spray a side, wait for the overspray to clear out, then do the next panel...

I've done a couple of cars and we used the Omni base (because of cost) w/a Global 894 Clear. Was this a good way to go? If I recall the clear was real spendy. thx matt

Just curious as to why you would want to use Base/clear for Panther pink ? To me it would make more sense to use a single stage like Delstar or Centari or one of the urethanes.Solid colors don't really need clear to look shiny and there is less chance of getting dirt in the finish with a single stage paint.

transtar for me! To bad you can't get it! It is the $hit! I just shot some shopline this sunday just to try it. Nope not for me! Very watered down! Had 2 runs where I don't get runs with transtar. I didn't change my spray habits on a side not should have but oh well it is just the wife's minivan! If you can't get transtar go with 2021. I sprayed it air dry in abooth and had no problems when I do it! Good luck
