Brother found this inside? his steering column on a 70 Roadrunner, by the bottom under the switch.

Any idea what it is?

That is the key light.. The bent up tube has a optic fiber inside that passes the light from the bulb to the key area..

Wow - I had never seen that before.... course I have never broken a steering column down to parade rest before either!
