I ordered a set of valve cover gaskets for my 340 and I received this set my mistake. I have the correct gaskets coming, but I now have this set and I am not sure what they are for.
The part number sticker was ripped off of the packages, there is no number on the paper work sent to me, there are no numbers on the plastic part of the gasket except for a "2" on one of the corners. I have a feeling that I will be stuck with these gaskets and if I knew what they were for, then I can give them to someone who might need them.
Any idea what they are from?

Thanks

And the reason you wound up with them.. They are supposed to work on earlier heads just have extra unused holes.....

I ordered a specific part number which they had in stock. They sent me these as a mistake. They are sending me the part number that was initially requested.
I have a picture of both types of gaskets and you do appear to be correct. It looks like the hole patterns could be the same except one has twice as many holes. I would not feel comfortable about all of those unused holes not leaking though.
I was given the part number from fellow Moparts members and I want to use what they say is the best gasket. The two gasket sets are made of different material and when the next set comes in, I will confirm the hole patterns.

I was told that the original part that I ordered may no longer be in production. Maybe this black set of gaskets is the easiest MP replacement.
I have attached the original 5 bolt grey gaskets that I ordered for reference.

Thanks

The construction of the Moroso's sounds very similar to the grey MP units that I have coming. I am a definate fan of the metal based silicone gaskets. The black MP gaskets also have the metal core but the silicone is not very thick, which gives it a harder feel.

Thanks for showing that gasket.
