There is a little tiny lip on the bottom of the trim, the retainer clips latch onto that. The tool neeeds to slide in between the body and the lip, it will push the lip out away from the trim, lift up the trim with your other hand and maybe use a thin screwdriver to slide in between the trim and the gasket to lift the trim up, do one clip at a time and make sure all of them (retaining clips) are disconnected from the bottom of the trim pieces. There is three or four pieces of trim, if I'm remebering correctly IHTH

Is his 69 the same as 70-74 challengers?
Same style clip but rubber gasket instead of glue in glass. OP. Be carefull and slow. You don't want to bend up that trim either. Pretty hard to find and $$$. Use a thin piece of card board between tool and rear glass. It takes abit of practice and patience to get the hang of it.

And I've found that teh amount of corrosion, goo and debris in there makes each clip require a slithgly different technique before it finally releases.

I took these pictures a couple years ago to help folks know what there trying to do. This is a challenger, though. A slighty modified "slim jim" lockout tool. Remember them?
