If you look in the background of this pic you will see The Twin Dicks car, Leons, and Bill Mays.

I see Bill's Avenger, Mikes's Duster, but that is not my Barracuda beside it. I think that is Mike Judd's late 60's Valiant, dark green color. He sold that car just a little later to Randy in FL who went high 7's on radials with it.

Bird again you are full of Bull.

For years KOS was one class Super Street. The rule was 28X10.5. How do I know. I had a 28X11 Goodyear and was not allowed to run.

KOS SS was generally following the rules of NMCA SS and later we were allowed 29.5X10.5. Then by the year 2001 allowed 31X10.5W and then following NMCA, sense a lot of us ran both classes, KOS followed allowing 33X10.5W, but with a weight penalty.

EZ street ran smaller tires. Later they, following NMCA's Easy Street class they too stretched the tire rules to larger than 28X10.5.

Mucle Street was smaller. I think a 28X10.5 street tire or equivalant was their rule.

Bird, KOS was ran from the early 90's all the way to the last year in 2005. We ran MSD 7AL boxes with a retard box and no progressives or timed timing controllers. So why are you trying to diss the series? For those years it was what it was. No TT5 as you comment in the later years, but we ran by rules which were more restrictive than any of the classes ran for Heads up street cars today.

Never winning a round of KOS racing is no reason to run it down. A series where many people met a lot of freinds, saw their car on ESPN or in the mags for the first times.

Bird I take up for you all the time but BS statements like this is why a lot of people don't care for you.

Leon

I miss all of these KOS cars also. Sure seems like alot of them were running bigger than a 10.5" tire. (even if W's).

In EZ Street it had to be a DOT Tire. I dont think anything more than a 11 inch street tire was allowed. We used 315 BFG's on ours because thats what we used in the NMCA/NSCA T/A Class.

Whats the difference between this and the 10.5 class that we run in your opinion other than the name....which we are switching to as long as Im not stepping on anyones toes.

We dont have a ton of rules, but I think the way we are set up its a pretty level playing field for the number for cars that we have.

1/8 Mile, Heads Up, .400 Pro Tree, 16 car field / blind draw
Rear Tires 29.5 non w or 315 radial
(29.5″ tall tires allowed up to 10.5 for a slick and 13.5 in a dot street tire)
Must retain stock fire wall and front frame rails in stock location, aftermarket bolt on front suspension allowed
Any rear suspension allowed
Wheelie bars allowed
Backhalf (aftermarket rear frame rails) allowed
Stock appearing interior (stock style dash, can be fiberglass)
Any power adder allowed
Weights:

Boosted big block 3300lbs
Boosted small block 3100lbs
Nitrous big block 3100
Nitrous small block 2900
N/A big block 2800lb
N/A small block 2600lbs
(Deduct 50lbs for Leaf Springs)

The valiant in the background is my buddys 67 valiant name is John Eisz.it was a 500 inch indy motor N/A running 10.20's..I remember this race because it was my first race with my car with the new 410 inch W8 motor and I was mad because I couldnt get it to run

2 days after this race I yanked it and had Tim Davis check it out and took it to BES racing engines to dyno it..come to find out the motor had plenty of power.. it was my converter..lol

Alot of good times racing the KOS class..by the way Richard O'malley still owes me money
