Just plain old B5 boring (sorry) blue. B5 guys start the hate mail!! I've talked him into a Subaru blue that is very close to B5, will a little more pop, for the outside.

Started by prepping the rockers to accept the extension of the frame rail. I pie cut it so I could fully weld the two pieces together
Their is a box channel above the cut that is the inner structure of the RR. I will tie into it.
Just enough room for the window regulator to fully retract. Fully welded sub structure ready for the rear pan.
This is the inner part that I have notched for rail. I've seen others do these cars, recently in Mopar Muscle. I don't want to take anything away from the effort that was put forth, but I'd be concerned with the structure of the cars being built by being skinned. I've studied engineering, but am not an engineer, but understand it. The frame rail section on the LX car is THE integral part of the structure that everything attaches to. It provides the beaming strength of the chassis and transfers the loads front to rear and vice versa. It also is the side impact structure. When they skin these cars, they are cutting away the outer structure of the beam and then using the donor cars 18 gauge rockers to re-complete the beam. That's not ideal. The LX structure is two and 3 layers deep and 14+ gauge. I chose to install the frame beams that attach to the floor sections and to the body. The RR shell does not have to provide the beaming strength for the chassis or vice versa. They do add weight, and I have erred to the side of strength, but I feel it's worth it for safety and chassis rigidity.
Still fitting, but you can see this will attach to the inner structure of the RR.
 
The rear suspension and jig are what locate the rear floor section. Will post pics when I get that under and start welding this in.

Always look forward to seeing your posts and progress pictures. Can I ask how many cars you've done, or years building them in order to reach this level? You make it look easy and that only comes with a lot of hours behind it. 
I can't afford this.

I've always been building something for 25 years. It always seems the ones that look easy are the hardest. Pictures will always make everything look easy! Look at the build shows on TV. Condense 300 man hours in 30 minutes!

Thanks, hope to get a block of time towards the end of the month to get back on it. It's amazing that just the few pics ate up 45+ hours.

Awesome build. By far the best body swap I've seen. I am doing it the opposite by fitting the Charger into the existing GTX and I thought that was tough!.
Right on with the time....took me 32 hours just to get the steering column to work correct!

Thanks Darius. I've been watching yours as well. Nice job!
I'm sticking firm that this is not a body swap, but rather putting the SRT in the RR. It's probably just semantics, but I feel this maintains the structural integrity much better as the car is built in "layers" and not just a shell welded to a skinned chassis.

AWESOME.. I was "directed" here from the general section.. duuhh me..  I LOVE what you are doing. Not until about 3 weeks ago did I think of looking at wrecked, newer Gen Challengers for my '70 Barracuda.. NOW, I am watching this post like  .. Your Barracuda build is/was excellent..This one REALLY has my attention.. I've taken measurements from a 2010 Challenger but have yet to compare them to my '70. Do you think I'd be better off with a Charger over the Challenger if/when I make up my mind to do this.. I've been around a few welders/torches/grinders/frame jigs etc etc to not be afraid to take something like this on..The final product may not be as award winning as yours but I could hang close.. 
When you decide to quit, THAT is the moment when you would've succeeded..
