So after making some passes with my 71 RR I pulled on the scale at Raceway Park just for a look. HEMI,alum heads, full exhaust, spare tire, 3/4 tank of gas, nothing stripped and with me in it 4120. Yikes! Does that sound right?

That sounds correct. By the way I was at the old time drags with my R/T (just in show), your car is cool. Nice job.

Well at least you have a Hemi. My 74 Satellite with a 318 weighed that much on those same scales.

most important is what times did you turn. Next time drop and jack the spare, use only 1/2 tank and remove anything else that isn't bolted down.

The motor-
-Aluminum everything (flywheel, head,s water pump and housing)except block, crank, and rods
-mini starter

chassis-
-cut out crash bars from doors (18lbs of metal a piece)
-running 71 bumper (weighs half as much as 73, and that with the 73 bumperets taken off!)
-running only half the front bumper mounts
-removing bumper bumpstops from behind bumper that bolts on fender
-remove rear bumper unbolted giant crash bar off rear bumper
-removed rear bumperets
-removed anti vibe stuff off trans and floor boards
-removed floor insulation replace with tinfoil coated buble wrap (plus the insulation hold moisture on the floor and starts rust)
-replace 73 tbar mount with 71 and earlier style
-aluminum master clynd
-removing air everything (which I will proably put back on with modern smaller stuff, take stuff off put back on )

I know Im forgetting stuff because I know Ive done more. I havent reweighed it because I dont know any one with scales. Im sure aluminum rims would really help but are outside the buget.

I saw your car and took a look at it (you were not around), loved it! Where in Jersey are you from?

Had not raced in 31 years (yikes), did some time trials the week or so before, got the car in low 11's. I know it will do better if I can get some traction. This Nostalgia Show was the best time (no new stuff allowed).
I'll run again at the Mopars at Englishtown.

Nice. What mph and 60 ft? Do you have a roll bar?

No roll bar. At ATCO they didn't seem to care at Englishtown they didn't say anything because we were in the elimination rounds I was running 11.5 for my time trials and got lower as the day went on, but my 60 was still at 1.7. Maybe some of the Jersey NY and PA people can chime in. Is ATCO a faster track then ETown? My 60 at the few time runs I made at ATCO were in the 1.6 range around 1.7 at Englishtown. I guess my weight made my ETs better then my 60 looked. MPH ranged from 118.5 to 121.5 at both places. Keep in mind, many of my runs were with little, to some, to extreme tire spin. 5800 shifts and around 6000 RPM going through the traps.

Some tracks watch this closer than others.

I have not run at either track. Everything else equal, Atco might be faster as it is at a little lower elevation, but not much. Track prep, and the weather conditions of the day would make a bigger difference than elevation between these two.

Tire spin has a much greater effect on et than on mph. My et is a littler slower than yours, but my 60' is about 1.9. A 1.6 sixty ft. and fall Atco air and you should be dancing with 10.90s IMO.
