The Landau style half vinyl roof (common)was a factory option but not the side pipes.

This came up a few years ago.
IIRC someone posted an ad that seemed to show them to be a So. Cal dealer custom kind of thing and sold new like this. Looks like bias tires on the car now.

Maybe someone will repost it, I doubt I grabbed it.

I can't afford this. mark

Its called a California cruiser, there were 52 made for so cal dealers, to be shown on the dealer floor. they didn't leave the factory this way, but they were customized by a shop for Ma Mopar. then a after a year or so, they were sold off..

this car has been sitting in inside storage, for most of its life.
it runs, and is in good shape...

His asking price is 10k....

So you post this is survivor section asking for help, but know about it?
When asked for a source of info, you ignore the request?
Then you mention it's for sale?

What is the point of sharing this?

I found out from another source, had a link to an article in a magazine from years ago...I posted because i had never seen one before....

These were once original standard 2 dr 318 V8 sport coupes sent to a customization shop for convereion into the final roduct the Californal Cruiser Dodge or Plymouth...

The stainless grille surrounds which said "Dodge" and "Plymouth" were removed the holes were filled and the areas were touch up painted...

Lake pipes were added below the rocker panels, special interiors swapped in the tops were converted into the Faux carson style tops with shrunken rear window area...

wide white walls and baby moons installed...

These were specially built promotional cars to be held to increase sales in Southern Califoria Dealers Show rooms..

Factory Plant workers likely never say or noticed these unless the visited a dealer showroom with one in it prior to them being eventually liquidated to the general public when dealers felt they were no longer useful in Boosting interest in F Body Sales

To be honest, the grille is worth more than the whole car to the right person

I remember seeing Billy "the Kid" Stepp using one as a pit car at the U. S. Nationals for his Pro Stock car in the late 70's. Same burgandy color. I know I have seen pictures in magazines before. Bet someboday here has one. Any owner history just for fun?
