Pure junk. Not worth the postage it will take to send it to me. But go ahead, send it on.

JK I have always had better luck with the carters, tho most seem to lean towards the Holleys.
Parts are a little harder to come by to mod them, Holley stuff falls out of the trees, seems.
However, often times I find the Carters need less to make them work.

It takes gasoline to interest me.

I put that same carb on my stock 440 in my 68 Charger in 1994, it is still there and is a great carb for me.
I had to adjust the idle one time on a trip to the Nats in Columbus, it got some dirt in it...It settled in after a couple of miles and got back to normal...
That was 10 yrs ago..
It has always seemed a little fat to me at WOT, but it simply works great..

'Older' version-when Fed-Mogul was making 'em...

I've had one on top of a 440 for 20 years...

For ease of tuning, and reliability once you dial it in, I'll take it every time...

For a car that's driven more than 1320 at a time, I'll take 'em over a Holley ANY day of the week...

Thanks for all the positive comments on this unit. Is the 0441 a date next to the part number? Does it mean 44 day of 1981?

I just picked up two of these carbs still shrink wrapped in their original boxes. Sounds like they are worth keeping?

1970 Challenger R/T, 528 Hemi
1970 Charger 500 S.E. 440 4 BBL

Why wouldn't they be? AFBs have been mixing air and fuel on engines for 50 years or more, and in some pretty high performance applications.
People used to say about the dual quad 409s that nothing compared to the roar when the two AFBs opened up.
I'm sure the same could be said about the carbs on 421s or 413s or 425s, etc.

I have a brand new 9410 that I bought for a Landcruiser project, it's waiting its turn.

Kudos to Edelbrock for keeping this seminal carb line going into the new century.

R.

There an excellent carb. Take the time to dial that in mint and you'll love it.
The ONLY draw back to "AFB's" are the counter weighted air door for the secondary side. Roll into the secondary side rather than am the pedal. The pump shot doesn't always cover the secondary opening.

At one time both the Carter brand and Edelbrock brand carburetors were manufactured by Weber in Sanford, NC. Carter(Federal-Mogul) got out of the business at some point. I don't know if Weber still produces for Edelbrock.
