I saw an old picture today of my SS/D Hemi 4 speed 68 Coronet RT today and it really brought back some good memories. WHAT are some of your best memories of drag racing. There are so many it would b hard to pick out just one. But I would say it was first round call for Super Stock elimination. We had won 14 weeks in a row in SS. We were really dialed in and could run way under the class index. Anyway, We pulled up to the staging lanes as soon as the call was made for SS, only to sit there for 45 minutes while the track announcer kept asking then demanding and only after he threatened to start disqualifying cars did anyone pull up beside us in staging. Then immediately everyone else pulled in line. It was fun to be feared.

I once raced at a track in about 1971 and the tree broke and there was like maby 6 or so cars racing for the final eliminations. so we were going to race using a flag. then an older friend, Joe Minart ( ALaska Joe ) was an experienced driver, street or strip. He instructed me to leave on the flagmans elbow movement. there was just a couple of round left so before anyone caught onto my driving I was in the finals and ended up winning the race. It was thrilling back then front engine dragsters, always a funny car or two.
A few Hemi cars including the one I drove which was mine and my brothers.

Won a trophy bracket racing my '69 Super Bee at Green Valley in 1977. Been pretty much down hill from there.

Won the 1/8th Mile Nats at Empire in my Duster in 04'...runnered up due to mechanical failure the next year in the Arrow. Thought I was going back to back but it wasn't to be.
