We are just a few days away from the "Drag Week solstice" whick marks the halfway point between the 2011 event and the 2012 version, so I'll let last year's story go and begin a new one. The 2012 Hot Rod Drag Week will begin and end at Tulsa International Raceway, which is my brother's home track, and all 3 of them live within 10 miles of it, so this will be our biggest, most ambitious effort.

Boone drove the Blue 67 Belvedere last year, but has since traded it to me, as part of the trade I'm supplying parts to build a RB 514 for this ole beater which he just drug home from it's resting place behind Dad's shop for... uh, is it 5 years...8? 10?? Jeez, time gets away so fast.

The truck is intended for Gasser/AFX it will be a loose tribute to the B/FX Truck that won the 63 Winternationals, the story is that the truck went to Texas in 65 and dissappeared. Our premise is, "What would it have morphed into by say 68-70 if it was still being campaigned in other classes??

The pic abvove is the parts truck, it was a low mileage truck that Boone used to drive before it got rear-ended sitting on the side of the road.
The Barnyard's front-end featured a steering box that had a full quarter turn of play, and it was real interesting at 110 mph, the box from the parts truck should fix that.
Below is the relatively untouched Belvedere and Satellite that we took last year, with the exception being the trial fit Centerline Rev wheels I bought for it...not sure yet if I'm gonna like the circles on such an angular car.

So far I've shipped 4 boxes from my house: main studs, head studs, Aluminum caps, pushrods, chrome TC cover, Edelbrock RPM's with Isky ductile iron rockers (My 8 second parts), and Darryl hauled the 4.300 Ohio crank to Boone on his visit to Michigan.
Eagle rods, and camshaft from Summit. Lifters from Hughes engines. Wp and housing, front engine stuff from 440 source.
Still have to ship the Weiand tunnel ram, and Cal Custom valve covers from my place. Will order the piston and rings next week.
The caveat is...I have to ship all this stuff to Dale!! Boone's place sits off the road a little bit, and he's got a big dog who loves to show his teeth when he's happy...so all the delivery guys in that area just toss his stuff over the fence and bolt!!!
