Now that I'm back home, and a car show coming up tomorrow, I'd like to apply the "Victory" badges to the fenders on my Javelin.

The decals are 4" x 4" roughly and go on the lower front fender each side.

Whats' the best way to apply them??
I've heard of just cleaning the area, laying down a heavy load of Windex, applying the decal, smooth out the bubbles and wait for it all to dry.

Would that work out ok or am I missing something? Any advice would be great! Thanks

I wouldnt use windex. I'd use water, with just a bit of baby shampoo. That's the best way to do tint also, and it wont remove your wax either.

True, but you want to remove the wax if you want to keep the decal. Just like paint, the decal is only going to stay if the surface is clean, and free from wax, oils, and dirt.

The windex method works really well, just dont go nuts with the windex. The decal will sort of float around until the excess is squegeed out, and wont get full adheasion until the last of the windex has had a chance to dry, and evaporate.

The soap and water method works well also, just remeber a drop of soap in a full spray bottle wil do the job (less is more). But you will need a wax, and grime remover first.

I've always used Windex without a problem....and like hp383 said, don't go excessive with the Windex, just enough to keep the decal from sticking to the surface while you get it to the place you want. That one is small enough you could probably "go comando" and not use anything. Get one edge taped where you want it, remove the backing and slowly work from the taped area outward to stick the decal.
