Cool ride, is it restored or are you going to restore it? The 65 in my sig is on the back burner while I finish up the Challenger.

Hi Joe, I'm doing a restoration. So far it has a rebuilt transmission and carb. I have installed new leaf springs and shocks and rebuilt the front suspension. I have the gold upholstery and carpet to install after the paint which will be the stock gold. Everything in the car is original including the 273 commando engine. It currently has dual exhaust but I would like to put the original single exhaust which came on the Formula S. The rear valance has the cut out on just one side for the resonator. I need to find a gold headliner. For some reason all of the companies I have spoken with no longer carry the original gold. I will also need to have my bumpers rechromed or maybe find some better ones, I'm not sure, depends on money.
The motor is stock and sounds good after finding a broken pushrod and replacing that. I am currently working on rust. The passenger side floor pan is really bad. I cleaned and painted everything underneath as I have replaced the suspension parts.
Thanks for the reply.

I like both of the rides your showing and as much as I like the fish I would be on the Challenger. I would love to have one but my budget allows me the goldfish.

Nice car! I've had no less than a 1/2 dozen 65 cudas over the years. Is yours a 4 spd or automatic? The one I wish I had back looked like yours, and was a 4 spd.

I sold a 4 speed and bought this one which is an automatic. I got hurt at work and have a slight disabilty which gives me a problem shifting. I am excited about the car and the progress I've made in the last 6 months.

Nothing wrong with an automatic. The most fun 65 Cuda I ever had was one I hacked together out of parts. I bought a body for $25, and installed a 340/727 out of a 73 Dart Sport. I used the bucket seats and console too. I had about $150 in it by the time I got a tag on it, and then drove the snot out of it for a few years before I sold it and the 4 spd car in a package deal. Same dude still owns both cars and hasn't done a thing with them! I sold them in the mid 80's! Where in NC are you located? I'm in the mountains, near Asheville.

I'm in Kernersville, about 170 miles from you. Seems like there is a truck stop there isn't there. I'm starting to get really excited about the progress I have made.

Kernersville, that's some of my old stomping grounds and I still have friends (not car people) in that area. Actually, most of NC is my old stomping grounds since I lived all over the state.

My 65 Barracuda came from Calif. originally but spent most of it's life in NC till bringing it to TN. I have a crazy history with the car that I'll have to tell you sometime. Many years ago, I found a wrecked 66 Formula S in a JY and pulled a bunch of of the Formula S parts off including the 8 3/4 suregrip rear axle and put them on my car. Kind of looking forward to working on it again.

Your car looks pretty solid. You have a good project.

Jackie, I didn't know you had that many of those. I know you told me you owned a few but didn't realize it was that many.

Hi Joe, I have been all over the US so everywhere kind of seems like home. I am going out to work on mine this morning. I need to finish the leaf springs and start some more rust removal. This one came from Michigan and body wise is solid. The only real problem is the passenger side floor pans.
Hope you have a great day.
Tommy

The rear suspension is complete with new shocks and leaf springs. Now I get to finish the front. I did one side earlier and left the other in place just in case of a problem.
