Hi, Learning on the part numbers of dana's and more spacifically 70 b body dana. Looking at the BOM chart the Bom numbers are the same for 70 to 72 b body but 71 to 74 B bodys are different lenghth. Am I to assume they are the same number and you have measure the length to get the right one?
I need a 70 b body 4.10 dana and have found severl with that part number but looking at the chart confuses me. Any Clarity to this?
Thanks!

Thanks Beep, like I said 70 to 72 b body show the part number but 71 to 74 b body are different length. What am i missing? Shouldnt 71 to 74 b body dana have its own number?

71 body and Axles are wider.

70 width should be the same as 68-69, but may have a different spline for the Track Loc as the older Power loc in the previous units.
I am not sure the cutoff date on Power Loc.

Now that makes a little more sense but according to BeepBeeps list the part number for 70 b body dana and 70 72 have the same number?
Whats up with that? How can 70 to 72 have the same part number?
