What would a 383 hp motor have for the color of the pie tin??
Orange or red originally?? It would say Road Runner on it also correct?? This is for a 69 RR 383 4 bbl 4 spd coupe.

Now I heard it was changed midway through the model year with later production 69s getting the orange pie tin and early 69s getting the red.

I have an original orange pie tin in my 69 runner vert with a build date of 6/23

I have had a few RR's and looked at a lot if them over the kast 42 years. I don't know the build dates of the 69's I have iwned but they were all red. I think it would be safe to get the red one. Nobody would question it. My 69 barracuda is red also. I never saw an orange 383 pie tin on a 69 car until they came out with orange repros that started showing up on 69's?

I would think 1969 GTX with a 440's would be no different.
But my former cars were red on the Jan 1969 SBD car

and orange on the March 1969 build date car

As far as I know , both were the originals
