Basically stock setup. Using a 12amp battery charger to activate the solenoid (pic) while I adjust the trans linkage and throttle cable (don’t have the battery in yet). The solenoid works fine until I attach the throttle rtn spring – can’t seem to overcome the spring tension. Using the repro 440-6 orange spring (70RR). What think ye?

I wouldn't use a "battery charger" to activate the solenoid, use some leads connected to a FULLY CHARGED battery to test the unit, before calling it toast,...what's the history on the selenoid?

you realize you have to tip the throttle manually to get it to set right... it wont pop the throttle back on its own.. dan

Mike, I thought about that also. Solenoid is a Standard Motor part (forgot the pn) I've had for years. Just changed the plunger. Basically new.

The solenoid can't overcome the return spring pressure on it's own...You need to depress the gas pedal so the solenoid can set itself in the extended position then it will stay until it's deactivated...
