i took the coronet out for drive today and noticed that the steering colomn gives a little, you can move it up and down, not a lot, just enough to notice. this is a used column and i did not replace the bearings at the time i installed it because everything look good.

i know there is a way to rebuild the column and put new bearings, however, i have never done it and do not feel comfortable doing it.
is there someone i can send my column just to have the bearings replaced, it does not need anything else.

Make sure the bolts that secure the plate to the firewall are tight. For years I sometimes felt that the front left shock was a little loose, but instead it turned out the plate that mounts to the firewall on my 68' Coronet was a little loose. Just had to tighten the bolts.
