My '69 barracuda has power steering that I want to replace with manual steering. I have a steering box but not a new column. I do have an old '71 Dart manual steering column. Can I remove the steering shaft from the '71 column and put in in the '69 column to make it the correct length?

Also, what years had the small diameter spline for the steering gear box shaft and what years had the large diameter shaft? My power steering gear box is large, the manual box is small.

The power steering box is longer than manual. I think Bouchilon or Mancini makes an adapter. Easy peezy.

All you need is the bottom half of the manual column.

Pull the shafts apart, slip the manual bottom half in with the manual box.

No adapter required.

You can put the sheer pins back in if you like.
