Saw the other day some impressive cam specs for a Chevvy SB 4xxcui, more than .800 lift and 1,8 Ratio Rockers....was making impressive hp's above 700hp. Redline 8000 RPM.

What is the maximum possible lift a stock 360cui Block can handle? I gues you need also some very deep pockets in your pistons.....and can you make a Mopar SB surviving this high RPM's?

Its not the block but the pistons... if you have the
pockets you can go big... I NEED .820 lift on my engine
but I wimped and only have .710... I didnt want to
change valve springs alot... happy turkey day all

There would be Comp Eliminator engines running around 1" of valve lift and crossing the line at around 10500 RPM. With the smaller cube stuff it is not at all uncommon. I have a moderate Comp style camshaft with 0.488" lobe lift, the big power stuff is in the mid 0.500"s. Add a 1.9:1 - 2:1 rocker ratio, you get the idea.
