Could someone give me a heads up on setting up one of these ignition boxes? What issues did you encounter with setting yours up? What functions have you used on yours?

A friend is having a few problems with his, he isn't the most computer literate person and I said I would help him out.
His biggest problem is an error message with the cam timing sensor, which he doesn't have. The box keeps telling him he should have one, how do you switch of the individual cylinder timing to make it go away?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Well a lot of the functions are considered off when they don't have a value associated with it or you use a zero except for the rev limits

Really once you pick the number of cylinders/firing order and make sure that it's not in test which turns the spark off than you are good to go.

Did he get the manual with the MSD box? If not, I suggest downloading it. As Josh said, some functions are off when there is no value selected. Also, the one that got me was the PRM limiter that comes factory pre set to 9 seconds and something like 2500 RPM from release of the TB. This had me baffeled as to why my car was popping at the end of a pass and wouldnt run over 2500 RPM on the return road....until you shut the ignition off and it reset itself. It is a great box after you get it figured out though.

That all sounds very familiar from my phone conversation with him. Was it easy to reset? I downloaded a set of instructions which I will look at over the weekend. I would like to get it sorted out for him so we can go racing next weekend.

Thanks for the replies
