you have helped a bunch!i know what you meen about the pulley! welding the intake i was not sure how much could be done on the roof or taper or how to fix it.an intake can be big $$ as you know. i thaught the 440-1 cnc would be an option.

Why go though all that trouble when Indy sells a Blower intake for there heads? Im sure there is guys who can make about any intake you want for what ever reason, and what ever head.. Just takes some $$

Like BigInch said, the B-1 is really not an option, but welding the top of the runners is definitely do-able for the max-wedge port window. Not sure I understand how Big was suggesting doing it, but back in the late 60's, Sox & Martin had at least one Max-wedge 440 with an Edelbrock 440 port size CH4B (or DH4B, whichever one fit the RB)with the tops of the runners welded up and the port opened up to the Max port. Seemed pretty exotic at the time but much more doable now, especially with the blower intake, as the best I remember on the BDS, the runners are relatively short and a pretty straight shot from the inner plenum to the port. You could probably rough out the ports with an end mill and then die-grind to final size, it will take a decent aluminum welder to lay the material in, of course, and it will take some work, but still a lot easier on the pocketbook than the Indy option. It's always amazing to me that others find it so easy to spend "Your" money.......

thanks for posting.yes the port is streight and only 4" long tops so i think only 2" of the port would need welded.i will go take some pics.

I thought it looked like there might be enough in the casting to go out to Max,too Problem is if you do break through its harder to weld up thin aluminum than it is to weld it up when its thicker to start with. Problem with epoxy on a blower manifold, it may hold up to the boost, but might blow out if it ever backfires, even with a pop off valve, just something to think about.
