I am gonna use a performer RPM intake on a 440 Im building.

I already port matched it to the heads......

Is there anything else that I can do on it to help pick up some more power?

Bolt it down very carefully. Have a beer and admire it for 5-10 minutes, then take it off and replace it with a Holley Street Dominator!

Just kidding, the RPM is a great all around manifold on a 440. There are a few runners in the lower plenum that I massage and I tend to run a long strip of emory through all of the inside and outside runner walls and to the plenum to remove any casting burrs inside. You can do some deep porting (which includes enlarging the plenum halves) but for the effort it's much easier to work on (and yield more out of) an SD. After running the Indy 2D (ported to full Max Wedge) I think it's a better power and torque producer than both of them but it's difficult to get your hands on a non core-shifted casting.

For a 440 the RPM is as close as you can get to a no-brainer, it will work very well right out of the box with a 750-850 double Pumper. And unlike the SD , the RPM even works great on an otherwise stock motor with highway gears and stock stall. 440's are easy torque producers, it's amazing they ran as well as they did with the stock manifold with all of its Acute runner angles.

Yes, you can have the intake ported but it is very expensive and there really is not much justification for throwing that much money at a dual plane intake.

If you have the hood clearance then try some different carb spacers. My 470 ran best with a 2 inch open spacer on top of the Performer RPM.

Just wondering if anybody has modified the divider like we did on the old LD340? I know for sure it worked on them.

i've got one on a 10.5 comp 440 aluminum headed .550ish solid flat tappet 850 demon 1.5 rockers 727 w 3500 conv 4.30 29.5x10.5 m/ts 3400lbs race weight shift it at 6400 runs 11 teens @120.no work in ternally but i cut off all mounting stuff cast on the outside.

I had one on the 509 cammed, iron headed 440 that I had in my cuda years ago. It ran 11.40s at 117 mph at 3700#. I found a 1" open spacer made a little more power. I did some mild blending of the flat spots at the top of the flange after I put the spacer on, but that was it.

Spacers can help but if you're going with a stock flat hood the RPM is about as tall as you can go and even then you'll need a drop base.

I have seen that two have found that it liked an open spacer on it, Kind of tells me it would like the divider work, What you willrobably see is a small loss of bottom end torque and increase in upper horsepower. I for one have never had a problem with bottom end torgue in a 440. upper hp is another thing.
