I would like to thank Jay(Jbody) His buddy Dave, Don(Jeepmon)and his son Jon for all thier help this week at the Street Car Supernationals. I needed help on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as my son had to work and could not be there. They volunteered thier time to come help me out with the cars and were invaluable in helping me get the cars out there and racing. They stepped up big time to help me out and it was a great of them to do so. It was a long weekend for sure with a lot of on track issues and we did not get many hits at the track but they all chipped in to make the most of the time we got. Had a couple little gremlins show up and they were right there to help get the issue sorted out. Unfortunately we only got one qualifying hit after finding the issue so I was not able to get as aggressive as I had planned. They really stepped up for me and I owe all of them a debt of gratitude and a few beers. From doing the grunt work while lashing valves, to setting tire pressures towing me up and video taping of the car, heck Jay and Dave even took pity on me and fed me one night they were all very helpful, went above and beyond and made it a fun weekend for me even with the issues.

I woudl like to also say I am very sorry about what heppened to the orange car on Dan. I was trying to let him get his licensing done in my other car and it had an issue with the glide on his first full hit. The planetaries just let go, odd thing is it happened when the car went on the stop. Strangest thing I have ever seen. But it was a weekend full of strange things. I am just sorry he did not get to finish his license. It is my fault for not having the spare glide ready to go yet. I tried to locate a replacement but could not find a two JW case glide we could use.

Also was nice meeting Micheal Doty. Great guy hopefully one of these days we can go racing together. Or heck lets go hunting up there in beautiful Montana...

Had a great time Al, as did Dave. I mentioned to him that I was going and he was over the top on getting us set up with the camper, food, etc..! Maybe the reason I can't consistantly hook my 10.5 is that I'm down about 700HP .

Oh man... what a weekend.. I dont think I have ever been so tired the entire 5 days...

Al... Like I said in the other thread.. This is probably the funnest weekend of racing I've ever had.. Thanks for your hospitality and thanks for allowing me to drive your car..

On the way home, there was a wide open section of Nevada dessert rode and I told Jon it was ok to open up the car.. over the mile or two of WOT, he got the "new hot rod" up to 130 before he had to shut it down..

I said not bad.. but I got you covered by 27 mph and it only took me 1/4 mile to do it in.. lol He flipped me off..

Jay.. It was really nice hanging out with you again.. Please tell me that this last weekend gave you the bug and you plan to wipe the dust off the white car next year.. It would be cool to line up against you sometime.... (MATS 2012)

Don, You need to drink more coffee, or maybe have more Chipotle Tired, it was a slow week. We did not even work hard this last week. Maybe it was the adrenaline rush and subsequent let down when the turd broke.

Dave was great to see you out there again. You ready for a Hemi now Be great to go racing with you one of these days. I assume you will be at the MATS now that you are a little closer. Come on by and hang out in the motorhome. I promise next time the Scotch and Beer will be there. Time to have some fun racing and not take it so seriously.

IM THINKING REALLY HARD ABOUT THE DAYTONA WITH A HEMI.... I LIKE THE SOUND OF THAT.

I am very happy with the progress on the engine for sure. Did not have to adjust any valves really all weekend long. We just need to play with the carbs some more to get the power up where it should be and figure out how to use it better. Our splits were pretty competitve as was the MPH. We now there is more MPH in it as we were headed the right direction there. We just need to get the 60' covered better. For now it is baby steps and hopefully we will have a place to race next year...

If not we just leakdown the motor and that was good news. The springs checked out at the same poundage they were installed at so it will be ready to go for someone next year.

HEY AL,I WAS WATCHING YOUR LAST PASS,.YOU ARE GETTING ALOT OF WHEEL SPIN OUT OF THE HOLE.I WAS WATCHING WHERE YOUR CAR WAS WHEN DOING YOUR BURNOUT, YOU ARE STILL IN THE WATER,I WOULD HAVE PULLED YOU UP ANOTHER FOOT.

Dave we want that wheel speed, it is what accelerates the car. We just need to find a way to keep in going thoughout first gear. If you look at the data log you will see where it begins to hook to much and pulls the motor down. Can also see it go away on video and when you link it to the data it really shows. That is the one thing we have to get correct to make this thing fly, just got to figure out how to get it done and not spin. Got to remember this thing likes the RPM that wheel speed is what we need. Dead hook is not a good thing in this kind of car, or really any high hp kind of set up. One of the issues we have with the other car is to much hit and not enough wheel speed..That why it is such a turd.
