Well I guess I will be the minority here that likes a Fluidamper I have used them on all my engines and a few more that I built for friends.

Most on here will tell you ATI.

However, we went with one of these http://www.professional-products.com/dampersProductchrysler.php on my motor as it also isn't turning over 7K and Scott has had really good results in the past with them.

The only thing to note is remove each screw around the orange ring and add a dab of Loctite to em.

I use the Professional Products balancer also.
It is SFI approved so it was tested at 12,000 rpm.

flame on....

I can also tell you it is made in Australia and not China.

Here it is on my eng. And all the belts line up fine. Ron

I thought the Professional Products dampers had a reputation for the outer ring spinning on the hub. Isn't that the brand that board member "RAMM" had fail during their EMC pulls a couple of years ago, or am I mistaken as to which damper they were using? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have one on my 408 and I needed the AR .125 crank spacer for some reason. Pulley needed to come out that far.

It's a nice damper though.

Perhaps that's the reason Scott said to add the Loctite to each of the screws

Sure looks the same. And it is SFI approved. I have used two of them on my eng and my buddies. I liked the fact that my alt belt lined up perfect. I know the ATI balancer does not line up right with stock pulleys. And I heard that the one's made in Australia are usually good ones. Ron

Couldn't say for sure....mine is a solid non-sfi unit...?????

Agreed, but they are also the most expensive.
If I had a more serious effort race engine with 20-25k in it, I would. But instead I spent the difference on a distributor.

I just have a street engine and I felt the ATI might be overkill on it, so I got the same one as the guys above, but for a smallblock.
It's nicely made, looks nice and people seem happy with them.

It's been about 3 years since I've posted here but I just thought I'd check it out for old times sake. I USED to use Fluidampers and I also USED to break crankshafts regularly. Since I switched to ATI in 2002 I haven't broken a single crank. My engines are 511 B-1's which I run in Super Gas.

I`ve heard this a few times and it boils down to quality controll plain and simple or mine and many others that use Fluidampr`s would be breaking cranks too.
