just finishing up on wiring my challenger. The overhead console is left. Can someone help with the following:

Seat belt light- Where is the sensor....on the passenger side, drivers? I cant find anything associated with seatbelts.

Low fuel- is there a wire from the overhead console main harness(under dash) that goes to the gas gauge or a wire that leads to the tank?

Door ajar sensor were great.
Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thanks

Seat belt light just hooks to the time delay relay that is used to light the ignition switch & dash light switch...

Low fuel warning has a low fuel relay mounted to the right of the glove box, the fuel sender lead goes to the fuel gauge like normal but the lead to the gauge from the IVR is disconnected & in it's place a feed from the low fuel relay plugs onto that gauge terminal...

The door ajar switches are located at the mid rear jamb area & they simply provide a ground path for the door ajar light which is powered at all times...

Im getting somewhere now.....I have the harness plugged into the low fuel relay (right of glove box) and now the low fuel light is on all the time. I'm guessing I missed the wire on the back of the gas gage. There is a loose wire from the console harness right behind the gauge. Does this hook up with the wire thats already attached to the gas gauge ?
Am I to understand...that the seat belt light just comes on for a short while (as a reminder) when you start the car regardless if you have your seatbelt on or not. In other words...there are no sensors like on todays cars.
You guys are awesome....finally someone who knows their SE's and Grand coupes....!

Instrument Voltage Regulator is my guess. It's mounted on the back of the instrument cluster behind the gauges.

Yeah the seat belt light is just on a timer...

IVR as mentioned is instrument voltage regulator & it's is the little box on the back of the cluster that has a little jumper harness that attaches to three gauges, oil, temp & fuel.. Well in this case it attaches to oil & temp.. The blue wire from the low fuel relay provides the voltage for the fuel gauge..

Yes it gauge doesn't care if it gets power from the IVR or the low fuel relay, they both will provide the same power to the gauge... But if the power isn't coming from the low fuel relay that there is no information getting to the low fuel relay....

About an 1/8

Happy to help.. hopefully the relay is good, they are prone to going bad but we'll hope for the best...

Yeah.....it's me again! Well I crawled under that dash...and....I just want to make sure I understand....does it matter which prong on the IVR I attach the wire to.(the top, middle or bottom) Or am I even attaching it to the Ivr but to the gas gauge terminal(blue wire attached)and if so attach it with blue wire.

Once I have this hooked up correctly....and I get down to an eigth of a tank...the light will come on.....Will it stay on or just for a short while as a reminder and when....when started or while your driving? I appreciate your help.

Your gonna unplug the lead from the IVR to the fuel gauge... The plug the blue wire from the low fuel relay up to the fuel gauge... Yes both wires going to the fuel gauge are blue....

Once you reach about 1/8th tank the light will come on & stay on till you add fuel...

just to clarify....(thank you for your patience in advance)...my confusion seems to stem from...on the IVR the top prong wire leads down away from the gas gauge and connects to a terminal near the ampmeter. The middle prong wire is a black wire that leads to the main wiring harness. The bottom prong wire leads to a condensor. So....if I understand you right (I'm embarrassed )....Unplug the top wire from the IVR and leave it unplugged. Then hook up the blue lead from the wiring harness to the gas gauge terminal(blue wire already connected). Can I run both blue wires (harness and the one thats currently on there together)....or should I pull the current blue wire off? Thanks.....

The IVR should have a sort of mini harness the attaches to the temp gauge then it jumps to the the fuel gauge & finally the the oil gauge... Thats the one you need to unplug & you'll actually unplug it from just the fuel gauge.... All three wires at the IVR must be plugged in... I believe the jumper harness is black but I know there will be the fuel sender lead going to the fuel gauge, it is blue.. Leave it connected to the fuel gauge & unplug the second lead to the gauge... Plug in the blue wire from the low fuel relay....

Well here's the results.....for simplicity I'll call the blue wire from harness "x".
When I unplugged the IvR loop wire(black) and hooked up x ---to the terminal opposite the blue wire terminal...the gas gauge went from 1/4 to full.
When I hooked x up with existing blue wire on the other terminal nothing happened (stayed at 1/4) until I turned the key off where it shot up to full again. As long as the key is on ...it gives a correct reading. I then tried each prong with x on the IVR and obtained different tank readings.None where it should be. Im starting to think i'm not meant to have this working.
